Last night was so much fun! Bob and I, Betsy and her husband Joe, Marcia and David, Olaive and James and Gwen hung the show
"No Comfort Zone" in the halls of the Studios Upstairs!
What fun we had organizing and planning and hanging the work that represents the more than 8 weeks of our lives spent in this intense painting endeavor. Flyers are out, newspapers covered the story with some good articles about the show and today we are all putting finishing touches on title cards and preparing refreshments. I don't want to give too much away, but this is a pretty exciting show. It's not going to be like others you've seen, both in the way the work is displayed and in the work itself! Another surprise is the inclusion of some of Marcia Reed's own work that is simply stunning!
And remember, the Mispillion Art League is opening "The Work of Constance Ingalls" - silent auction and fundraiser, and Angelucci Gallery has an opening that features the metalwork of Travis Carter of Atomic Arc and a retrospective/benefit for artist Rob Hare, local artist suffering from Parkinson's disease who can no longer paint due to this debilitating disease.
There will be fireworks at dusk as the Riverwalk/Freedom Festival kicks off the weekend. So, lots of reasons to come downtown! Bring a friend. Bring two!
