Mispillion Spring Exhibit Reception 3.27.09
Mispillion Art League in downtown Milford, DE was filled with color, youth and vitality last night at the opening reception for its annual Print/Photography and Student Show, with a heavy emphasis on student work from local Milford Middle and High Schools. It was a great success! We were all thrilled to spotlight the creative work being done by these young artists. The students and their families were so proud to see their work exhibited in a "real art gallery" - Mispillion's, at 127 NW Front Street. Their art teachers Nancy Poinsett, Nicole Carter and Karine Richards deserve a huge hand of applause for the terrific work they are doing.

Families admiring the student work
I'd like to acknowledge our president, Sara Gallagher and Vice President and Exhibition Chair Sharon Hepford for their tireless work in pulling this show together and to our sponsors, Dentsply Caulk and Rehoboth Art & Framing (Midway Shopping Ctr, Lewes, DE) and to all the other Board and Artist members who worked behind the scenes. It was a lovely evening. Diane Deeney, in charge of refreshments must be exhausted today, along with Angela Prattis who made sure there was always a fresh supply of brownies, cookies and other homemade treats. I also want to apologize to one of our board members, Betsy Rybczynski, whose name was accidentally omitted from the program.
The exhibition will remain in the gallery until April 30th. Gallery hours are Fridays 4-6pm, Saturday and Sundays 12-2pm and at other times by appointment. Please call the gallery at 302-430-7646 for further information about classes and workshops.
