A Visit to New York City

Bob and I spent a few days in New York City last week, thanks to my brother Fred and his wife Elaine. They live there but were going out of town for a while and said we could use their apartment if we wanted to. We did. We love the city and any chance to hang out there is just great. We always have fun with them and I have to say we missed their company but managed to enjoy ourselves nevertheless. Here's a random sampling of some of the shots Bob took as we wandered around. He's been sick since we got back with bronchitis but must be feeling a bit better since I found these images he had sent to me while I was out at a meeting tonight. So here's a little taste of what New York looked like last week.

You guys seemed to have had fun over there in New York. I did not know there was a farmers´ market. The big city had always sounded so sophisticated I could not imagine something as simple as a farmer´s market there. That usually happens in big metropolis: they surprise people with their simplicity and ingenuity when you think they are only big monsters. At least that happened to me when I travelled to Buenos Aires. I had to get Argentina apartments as soon as I got there and I thought it was going to be super difficult because being a huge city with millions living there, it could be hard to find a good one that hadn´t been rented previously. I found the city totally different from what I imagined. Everybody wanted to help me, there were free apartments in the neighbourhood I wanted, and I ended up staying in one next to a flea market. That is not elegant at all, but that is exactly what surprised me about BA!
